I just found out that a certain wood was used by Noah and the Israelite’s to create items that miraculously saved them.

god told Noah to make an ark out of shittim wood and that ark saved humanity. Noah’s family went to to the ark and it saved them when the flood came.

next, the ark of the covenant and the altar and much of the tabernacle was made out of the same wood! Interesting that Noah’s ark and the ark of the covenant are the same name. The sacrifices were made on that altar of wood (it was covered with gold). The animal was stretched out across the 4 corners, the 4 horns of the altar, and god accepted the sacrifice as a replacement for his judgment. Sin was represented in the animal that was skilled and god took it away-the people believed this.

next the temple built by Solomon used the same wood.

finally I believe that the cross that Jesus was sacrificed on was made out of the same wood because the cross is similar to the ark, the altar and the temple. Jesus was stretched out on the cross like the animal was stretched on the altar. No one really knows that the cross was made out of shittim wood but I’ll bet that it was.

all of these items made out of the same wood served as salvation to anyone that believed in them. God shows us that he is the same god offering the same salvation from the Old Testament through to the new.
