anything that gets between my connection with god is called sin. Sin is a very old word that people used to understand any act or thought that broke their soul connection with god. To even use the word “sin” brings up negative connotations of judgmental people trying to produce guilt and shame in us. God doesn’t need to judge us (though he will at a future date) as we will always find ways to judge ourselves.
the soul knows that it is separated from god. We all “know” it, or at least our invisible soul does. The soul cries out and looks for love in all of the wrong places. We shun god and make our own choices and that is “sin”.
to think of sins as specific actions is counterproductive in the spiritual life. Sin should be seen as the simple choice of not clinging to god in everything we do.
