Thoughts on God and truth

Experience God’s Love Daily: A Spiritual Journey

God loves all the time. It’s kind of a mystery that whenever we go to god he is always loving us. It really doesn’t matter when or where, we always have him with us. I think we can realize this when we go inside and look for him. When we stop and enter his ‘space’ he is there waiting for us ready to spiritually ‘hug’ us.

Our loneliness is in our own mind alone. Loneliness happens only when we separate ourselves from god. This puts our loneliness completely in our hands. Our souls know this instinctively but we cover our souls with layers of our concerns.

When we wake up we have an opportunity to capitalize on our still souls. After sleep, the soul is ‘groggy’. It  hasn’t started its search for spiritual sustenance yet in all of the regular haunts.

All of the places it searches in the beginning of the day are ‘fleshly’, or pertaining to the physical world and everything it offers the flesh in terms of pleasure. We usually run right to concerns of the stomach by giving the flesh a gift of coffee and because of the souls strong relationship to the flesh, the soul feels like it is happy.

I think we all know that fleshly happiness does not last long. It isn’t long before we are done with the thrill of coffee, that we move onto some form of visual or auditory entertainment. That pleasure doesn’t last long either, but the day has been set. Once we get onto the flesh/pleasure highway, the soul gets locked in.

What is the alternative?

Start the day by locking your soul on to thoughts of god, particularly accepting gods love for us. God is always there hugging us. Why not hug him back, and keep hugging him as you begin your day. It is challenging, but this is the way, “the way”.

Pray unceasingly means having a long, long hug with god. All day! Impossible? No, but difficult.

The flesh is strong but the spirit is weak. Strengthen the spirit by doing spiritual things.

have you tried starting your day by hugging god back?

next post explains what I mean by ‘the flesh’
