Thoughts on God and truth

Understanding Personal Desires in Spirituality

My desires infiltrate my whole life. I may desire to hide that fact because I have been told that a spiritual person is supposed to desire god alone,  and I feel shame. What can I do? The truth screams even though I have the very best noise cancelling headphones on.

Hypothetically if I desire to share the gospel and I quote scripture telling me that I should. But the truth is, do I desire it because someone told me I should, or did this desire come as something that god personally drove me to? Is spreading the gospel a thing that god is telling ME to do right now? If god told me something I should obey him, and I do listen and I do obey immediately. If god told you to evangelize then YOU should do it. Go evangelize and seek gods leading. If god truly told you to evangelize then you are going to do it ALONE. Alone because he spoke to YOU, not everyone else. God speaks to each differently and each has their own path.

I wonder. Does every scripture apply to every person through all of time? Jesus said go out and spread the gospel to all nations.who was he talking to at that time? We all have our own answer based on gods plan for each of us.

Now if you belong to a club and you subscribe to that clubs rules, like a union, then yes you have chosen to follow a set of rules for your own benefit. There are benefits to belonging to a union. Individual union members have a democratic voice, but dissenting voices are Drowned out by a majority. This is how democracy works.

I do not believe that god created democracy and the Holy Spirit and Jesus seem to follow their own set of rules. Unfortunately humankind does not follow a theocracy. Even many Christian’s do not listen for the direct voice of god, but We can do that. We have the holy Spirit!

BUT THE CHURCH!!! The church is a union. We should realize that the Church is for the people, not the other way around. To make the church for the people may take 2000 years of backtracking.
