A spiritual life requires spiritual food. Without sustenance the part of you that is spiritual shrivels up. It’s like all of its water is drained from it and it becomes desiccated. That water is the Holy Spirit, who is the spirit of Jesus. The Holy Spirit and Jesus are separate and yet the same. Each has different ways of working but the Holy Spirit always does exactly as Jesus and the father direct.

So if you want your human spirit to thrive, it has to have the Holy Spirit feeding it. This is the same as saying that Jesus is feeding the human spirit.

There is one main food for a desiccated humans spirit. It is called the word of god. This word is the only bread that the human spirit can eat and without absorbing the word of god the human spirit starves.

Interesting that John called Jesus the word of god because he is. The words given in the bible that we are to absorb or eat are all about Jesus. The bible is all about him. If you want a surefire way of meeting Jesus through the Holy Spirit you have to read the word. You just have to. There is no door number 2. When you read the bible, the Holy Spirit speaks to you and that is the voice of Jesus.
