The Mind of Christ: Embracing Faith for Personal Change

After we have been fed spiritually our hearts seem to soar to Jesus, but stop feeding and the heart easily goes back to searching for the scraps that it always eats.

We act out what is in our hearts. If we are mean to someone with our words, this is what is coming out of the heart. That heart is seeking to do what makes it feel good and garbage is what it wants, because garbage is close and it’s easy and it’s familiar.

I don’t want that, so I pull my mind back and the spirit directs me to use faith. Faith leads us to the world of faith, where Jesus dwells. We want so badly to be with Jesus and the spirit helps us. So the spirit says to our human spirit ‘how would Jesus act or think in this situation ?’ I have already established that I don’t want to be mean. Your human spirit sees the solution to your meanness and replaces your meanness with Jesus love, or patience or whatever emotion is involved. You simply switch it by faith because Jesus wants you to.

Of course the choice to switch from bad to good is under the control of your will. This ‘choosing’ process only takes a millisecond in the brain because the Holy Spirit has enough influence over you that it can suggest a better alternative to your negative behaviour.

What do thoughts matter? Thoughts are HUGE! Thoughts are what come out of your heart storage . As a Christian do I want to be mean to people? I hope not!

Here is he most important thing. We are supposed to have the ‘mind of christ’. Our most important source of Christ is the word. The word is the spiritual interaction between your human spirit and the words in the bible and the Holy Spirit. This interaction is the Holy Spirit working in your spirit when you read the scriptures and they light something in your soul and mind. The words ‘resonate’. You feel extreme motivation. You ‘feed’ on the word as you read.

With this feeding something changes in you and it can be very fast, immediate actually. You have freedom
